Graceful.....Not So Much....

Most of the time LulaBelle sits up straight and tall....then sometimes she says forget it and she rolls back, the back legs come forward between the front legs and all grace is gone.....she is so cute!

And by the way she has not been tortured....she just had a spa day and the groomer got clipper happy so she has a little less hair in some spots.....at least she is cool when outside!

Makeup!!!

The Original Boof has always told me I need to be a little more dramatic with my eyeshadow. In the past I would find a neutral shade, maybe coral colored and just sweep it over my entire eye, throw on some mascara and call it a day. I love going makeup shopping and I started looking at some of the new Maybelline eyeshadows. They have a new line (not sure how long they have been out but new to me) that match or accentuate your eye color. My eyes are green so I decided to try out a few. Well, now I am obsessed! I am having a blast playing up the eyes a little and getting out of my comfort zone. I know they are saying this shadow is best for this or that eye color to get that color to pop but I think they work for all eye colors. Here are some of the ones I have.....I know....obsessed!

I have two of the duos...Sunkissed Olive and Dusk. Then in the others I have Plum Smokes, Velvet Crush, Crown Jewels and Queen Gardens.

For eyeshadow newbies like me, they have imprinted the shadows so you know what goes where. It tells you the liner, the crease, the lid and the base. So fun! I can't believe that I have been putting some purple on my lids and I love it!

Also, as far as the liners...I do like lining at my lash line but I don't particularly like pencil liners. I like using shadows as a liner. To me it is softer. I went ahead and invested in a good eyeliner brush from Estee Lauder. Maybe I could have found a cheaper one but it does work and makes a difference and it is awesome!

I will also go on record that mineral powder rocks!!!!!! I have never worn foundation in the past. Down here with the humidity and the wonderful non-feminine sweat glands that I seem to have in my FACE makes regular foundation not an option. In the past, I would buy some under eye cover and kind of use it all over. Then when they opened an Ulta here I went in and discovered mineral powder! FOR THE LOVE!! It is awesome....it is light...it covers....you can sweat and be okay..love, love, love!!! Ulta has two kinds of mineral powder but I like the PUR in Golden Medium. It covers like you wouldn't believe and if you sweat...just dab and nothing is running down your face.

Now I am also in the process of trying out the Olay Pro-X line of moisturizers. My skin is pretty particular about what it likes on it. To this day I still take off my eye makeup with Ponds cold cream and wash with Noxema. My moisturizers have varied but Olay products have always worked great with my skin. I went through a phase....a very short phase.....of using the expensive Estee Lauder skin stuff. They really were awesome but way too expensive. Olay is the only one that does not make me break out so I am sticking with them. I will post more on the Olay Pro-X....thus far....I likey!

Boop!

This cracked me up....I am always "booping" the girls noses....BOOP!

Poor LulaBelle!

It happened again! Lu got bit by something. She had another big lump on her and it abscessed. Bless her heart! She has a hole on her back hindquarter. She had to to get a big shot of antibiotics and I get to treat it with warm compresses, Neosporin and some Benadryl. It hurts and she gets a little jumpy so the Benadryl has been a blessing. Of course it is in a place we can't wrap so I found this t-shirt at the store. It is perfect for covering up the area so she can't lick off the Neosporin or rub it off. We had to use a few safety pins to hike it up so she can walk, but she is working it. She swishes in it! And yes, it does say "I'm with Gorgeous"!

Daisy May has been a good sister and checks in on her. Here they are snuggling down for the night.....Lu is already out (again, thanks Benadryl) and Daisy is on her way!

I love U2!

I don't know what I love more about this....the fact that Bono gave this guy an experience of a lifetime or Adam's friends trying to film it and they were SOOOOO happy for him and shaking while trying to film or that he gave a shout out to his wife......it all made me tear up and just gave me a happy for the day! The article is below followed by the video.

U2 invited a blind fan on stage to perform 'All I Want is You' during a concert in Nashville over the weekend.

The Irish rockers were about to begin their encore at Vanderbilt Stadium on Saturday, when Bono noticed fan Adam Bevell holding up a sign, which read 'BLIND GUITAR PLAYER. Bring me up'.

Bevell was helped on the stage and handed a guitar as Bono promised concertgoers that U2 would be joined by a "surprise guest".

Bevell told Bono that he'd like to perform a song in dedication to his wife Andrea.

When quizzed by the frontman on how it felt to be performing with U2, the gentleman admitted: "I'm really nervous!"

U2 and Bevell then performed 'All I Want is You', which was originally released on 1988's Rattle and Hum LP.

The blind guitarist received a standing ovation from those in attendance and hugs from the members of U2 after the song concluded.

Bevell later said that he was shocked to have been invited to play with Bono, telling Fox News: "You could just feel his kindness. It was an out-of-body experience. It was the greatest feeling."

Haboob? Thought they were just dust storms...

Now I know the official name of a dust storm.....apparently it is a haboob. Did anyone see this? It is creepy but kind of cool. This one swept across Phoenix last night. WOW!

Canvas and Corkscrews

Been to Atlanta twice in the past couple of months to go do "Canvas and Corkscrews". The first time we painted birds. I think it turned out okay. I wish I had put in some more swirls but the swirls were stressful. I couldn't decide on swirl colors.....made it more stressful than it needed to be but I do like my birds....they are cute!

Then when I went back a couple of weekends below we painted "Poppies". I like this one.....kind of proud of it actually. Granted some of my poppies look a little like tulips but whatever. Both paintings are hanging in the kitchen and not relegated to the garage so that has to be okay!

And for the record, the pictures are hanging straight on the wall....I just didn't line up the camera too well......

Antiques? NOT!

Went to Atlanta to see some friends a couple of weekends below. We went and did a little wandering around in one of the squares near their house. There was an antique store that I had to go in. I love antique stores. I love finding little nick nacks. Nothing expensive just little boxes or figurines....you basic dust catchers for the home. This trip I found these little guys. Obviously not antiques but cute none the less.....

New Memory Card

Yeah...so I had to get a new memory card for the camera. The other one went wonky on me. Decided to test out the new card on the kids while they were sleeping. They are so cool and chill....I had the camera and the flash popping right up in their faces and they were so whatever! You will notice how perfect Daisy's beard and hair is compared to Lu's. Bless Lu's heart....I can brush her beard out and within 2 seconds it is just like I never touched it...meanwhile the delicate flower, Daisy, is still perfectly coifed. Kills me....here is Daisy:

New Music - Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, My Morning Jacket and Adele

Artist: Bon Iver Album: Bon Iver

I have heard and kind of known about Bon Iver for a while...heard a few songs here and there then I got lucky and they had him as a guest on one of the XM stations promoting his new album. The artist is actually Justin Vernon and the band name is pronounced "bon e-vair" which is derived from French "bon hiver" which means "good winter" (thanks Wikipedia). Anyway he recorded this album in a cabin in Wisconsin in three months.

I LOVE this album.....I have been putting it in my DVD player at night, setting the timer on the TV and going to sleep listening....I usually make it to song 2 and I am out....so relaxing and pretty and haunting and just good....

Here is the first release: "Calgary"

Next is Fleet Foxes Album: Helplessness Blues

Fell in love with the Fleet Foxes song "Mykonos". This is actually the first CD I actually bought of theirs. I miss buying CD's....kinda tired of Itunes....anyway I felt it was worth buying this one based on the first release from the album. They are also pretty chill and kind of remind me of a Crosby, Stills and Nash but better! Right now, my fave song on the album is "Helplessness Blues"....see below:

And here is the first official release "Grown Ocean".....like it too!

And next is My Morning Jacket Album: Circuital
Listening to XM and heard "Holdin' 0n To Black Metal". I fell in love with this song and had to get the CD. Now I love the whole album...but here is the song that made me buy the CD, not an official video....just the song:

And finally....Adele! Album: 21
I love her voice and her music! The original Boof got me this for my birthday. There are so many good songs on this that I can't just name one so I am going to throw 3 out there....maybe 4 that are just awesome! Would love to see her in concert....
Here is one of my faves..."One and Only"...chose this "video" because it had almost 2million hits:

Then she blew me away with her cover of The Cure's "Lovesong". I am a LOOOOONG time Cure fan and wow....here she is live on Letterman....her voice is pure and I wish I could pull off those eyelashes in every day life!:

Here is the last song on the album...there is an official video but the first time I heard it was in this little video she did at her house before the album was released. It is a little longer but it has almost 9 million hits on You Tube....worth watching. Song is "Someone Like You":

New Treeeeeeeats!

The kids are so loving these as little treats! Humans like them too! Thanks Costco!

Sneezing Baby Panda

So not what I expected and this made me laugh out loud all by myself!
